It is always possible to playa scale or chord in more than one position on the fretboard. Here is the fingering for the A minor pentatonic scale in the open position. You already know all these notes, so it should be easy to memorize.
The following examples are derived from this scale. Notice that the notes are the same as those contained in the A minor pentatonic scale in the 5th position. Playing in the open position also gives you access to the low E and G notes on the 6th string.
