Here are some riffs using the mixolydian scale in various positions on the fretboard.

This one uses the top three notes of a 9th chord to slide, instead of using the whole chord.

This one uses the muting technique. Another interesting feature here is that the 16th notes are swung. ( For more on swinging notes, see Progressive Blues Lead Guitar Technique.)
