Another colorful sound used in Funk is chords voiced in 4ths. In the chords shown here, one basic shape is used but the name of the chord can change, depending on the position of the root note.
It is possible to harmonize an entire scale with these chords. The following example shows the G Blues scale harmonized from below with chords voiced in 4ths.
