When you play Jazz tunes, the root movement of the chord progression may consist of any interval between one chord and the next. To be prepared for this, it is a good idea to practice all your scales and arpeggios ascending and descending with all possible intervals.
The following example demonstrates minor 7th arpeggios descending in major 2nd intervals. There are two sets of intervals here – one set descending from C and the other descending from B. Try this practice method with other intervals: e.g. minor and major 3rds.
Once you start to feel comfortable with minor 7th arpeggios, remember to practice improvising with them.
