As explained earlier, extending the parameters of the different strokes leads to greater relaxation, greater control, greater speed and greater dynamic possibilities of all stickings. Finger strokes can only be perfected by isolating them and practicing them diligently. The following exercises are designed to improve your control over the three strokes.
How to practice the previous exercises:
Note: Practicing these exercises may not be relevant until you have reached some level of competence with the stickings covered in the following rudiments section. They can still be used to develop finger control though. Be flexible and use these exercises when and how you feel comfortable.
