The Whole Note

The Whole Note

This is a whole note. It lasts for four beats. There is one whole note in one bar of * time.

When you play a whole note on the first beat of a bar, it means you won’t play another note until the following bar. However, it is important to keep counting even when you are not playing a note.

Sing the words as you play this song. Try walking around the room in time with the music as you sing and play. This lets your feet do the counting for you when you are singing.
