The next tune contains first and second endings. The first time you play through the song, play the first ending ( Z ), then go back to the beginning. The second time you play through the song, play the second ending ( X ) instead of the first.
This arrangement is a trio consisting of a bongo drum part, a triangle part and the melody of the song, which can be sung or played by a pitched instrument such as a keyboard, recorder or guitar.
Here is another song arrangement, this time in four parts. A four part arrangement is called a quartet. Once again the melody can be played on any pitched instrument. Notice that the drum and stick parts are the same in every bar except for the last bar. These parts are called patterns. Patterns are very common in percussion playing.
