Playing the Triangle

Lesson 4/21 | Study Time: 5 Min
Playing the Triangle

Playing the Triangle

To play the triangle, you hold it by the clasp or chain at the top with the left hand and strike it with the stick held in the right hand as shown in the previous photo. When you play the triangle it is important to get a firm clear strike with the stick and make sure that the stick doesn’t remain in contact with the triangle, otherwise it will stop the note from ringing properly.

To play the following song, simply use your feet for the bass drum part on the lower staff and play the triangle part with your hands. You may have trouble watching both staves at first, but this will become easier with practice. If you are playing with a friend, one of you can play the drum part while the other plays the triangle part.
