The Five to Three Blues: Take Two

Lesson 3/46 | Study Time: 5 Min
The Five to Three Blues: Take Two

The Five to Three Blues: Take Two

The following twelve bar blues solo is created by combining four different licks that share the same rhythmic pattern. Practice each separately.

Now combine the licks to form an entire solo. You may use either chords or single notes in the solo, and, if desired, may add a variety of hand effects, as demonstrated. Note that the second verse of this solo utilizes more single note technique than the first verse. The second verse also features both continuous hand wah techniques, as well as notes using one single wah for each beat.
