This somewhat rock and roll styled twelve bar blues solo utilizes the various licks practiced for the Stop Time Blues. In this solo, however, the principle Stop Time Lick, 1i 2e 2e 2i is given two new variations, so as to fit more accurately into the different portions of a standard twelve bar blues verse.

Various other licks are inserted into the two silent beats, to form the solo. Two verses are demonstrated, with the second utilizing more rhythmically complex two beat licks in between each main Stop Time Lick.
When observing, on page 54, the notation of the Main Stop Time Lick in a Twelve Bar Blues, note that the bar lines fall in the middle of the lick. This in no way affects the sound of the lick.
