Licks 26a, 26b, and 26c are train whistles that use a trill effect on, respectively, the notes 3i and 4i, 4i and 5i, and 5i and 6i. Each lick is composed of three beats of trill, followed by one silent beat.
Each is demonstrated twice using a "da" staccato effect on the trilled notes, and then twice using a "yo" staccato effect on the trill. Notice the slight difference between these two tonal effects – "da" is a sharper, clearer sound, and "yo" less defined.
