A6
The root 5 sixth chord is based upon the open A6 chord shape. The open shape is usually played using four fingers of the left hand but when it is used to form a bar chord, the third finger bars across all four notes. Some players play the note on the first string with the fourth finger depending upon the other chord shapes in the progression.
The following two root 5 sixth shapes are used in the next exercise.
This chord progression uses only root 5 bar chords.
