The Front Head

Lesson 4/37 | Study Time: 5 Min
The Front Head

The Front Head

Step 1: Repeat all the steps you have taken with the playing head, upto and including step5. Most front bass heads have a sound hole in them, if this is the case, then stretching in the head is not necessary. If you have chosen a head without a sound hole, then include step 6.

Step 2: Now you can tune the head as you did in step 7 with the playing head. While you do this, keep some padding against the playing head so you only hear the sound from the front head. This is easily achieved by sitting the drum on a folded towel or on a soft pillow.
