Tuning the Toms - Summary

Tuning the Toms - Summary

Bass drum sounds vary quite dramatically from one style to another.

Once you have selected the heads that you need from Section 2, follow the step by step tuning method to achieve the sound that you want.

It is important to make sure that the bass drum sound that you choose, compliments the overall sound of your kit. When you have completed tuning the bass, it is advisable to listen to the sound from the front of the kit, and make sure that you are happy with the response when the snare wires are on, and when the snarewires are off.

It may be necessary to do some fine tuning between the bass drum and the snare drum to ensure that each drum sound compliments the other.
