These three diagrams illustrate the root position (1 3 5), first inversion (3 5 1), and second inversion (5 1 3) of the F chord.
The next exercise uses root position, first inversion, second inversion, and an octave of the root position of the F chord. Use the correct fingering as shown in the diagrams.
The following chord progressions use some of the previous inversions for the C, F and G major chords. In each example the left hand plays the root note to accompany the right hand chord shape.
The following 12 Bar Blues in C uses different inversions for the F and G chords than in the 12 Bar Blues in Lesson 1. It also uses each chord shape one octave higher than given in the diagram. Note that the progression of chords is still the same.
