The following exercise uses a triplet strum pattern, as follows:

This Blues features a triplet run on the third and fourth beats of each bar. Be sure to play the correct notes, and be careful with your timing.

In the following variation of Blues In A the eighth note rest j is substituted for the second eighth note in the triplet group. To achieve the correct sound use right hand deadening on the chords, as explained in Lesson 7 .
