Chord Diagrams

Chords are learnt with the help of a chord diagram. This will show you exactly where you must put your left fingers in order to play a particular chord. A chord diagram is a grid of horizontal and vertical lines representing the strings and frets of the guitar as shown below. The example given is the A Major chord.

If you read the above chord diagram correctly then you should find that your first finger of your left hand is on the fourth string; second fret, your second finger is on the third string; second fret, and your third finger is on the second string; second fret as shown in the photo below.
