Swing Rhythm

Swing Rhythm

A swing rhythm is produced by slightly delaying the up-strum within a rhythm pattern. therefore giving the down-strum a longer time value than the up-strum. TIle rhythm to Example 31 is counted 1…ah, 2…ah, 3…ah, 4…ah. Listen to the recording to help get the feel for this rhythm.

Six-Shooter Blues combines the swing rhythm with the E Major Sixth and A Major Sixth chords. Extra care is needed as a chord change occurs on almost every beat of the bar.
