Electric Guitars

Electric guitars have pick-ups (a type of inbuilt microphone) and need to be played through an amplifier (amp) to be heard.

Solid Body Electric

The solid body electric is commonly used in Funk, particularly the Fender Stratocaster and the Fender Telecaster.

Hollow Body Electric

The hollow body electric (semi acoustic) is also sometimes used in Funk and is commonly used in related styles such as Jazz and Blues.
