Bar chords work the same way regardless of whether the chord is major or minor. Shown in the following diagram are root 6 minor and root 5 minor bar chords As with major bar chords, simply move the shape up or down the fretboard to find the root note of any minor chord.
If you are holding a root 6 minor bar chord shape, the root note will be on the 6th string. If you are holding a root 5 minor bar chord shape, the root note will be on the 5th string.
This example is played using the root 6 and root 5 minor shapes shown previously, along with a root 5 major bar chord.
