This example can be played with one shape moved up and down the strings. First, try playing it with an A form chord, then experiment using other shapes previously shown.
An Augmented chord can be created by sharpening the 5th degree of any major chord. For example, a C major chord contains the notes C, E and G, (1, 3 and 5) while a C+ chord contains C, E and G#, ( 1, 3 and #5). The following diagrams show some common open Augmented chord shapes.
