Slurring
A common left hand technique used in Metal guitar is slurring. Slurring is the continuous playing of hammer-ons and pull-offs. In example 73 only the first note is picked with the right hand. The other notes are produced solely with the left hand, using hammer-ons and pull-offs.
The following lick uses slurring and is played within the minor pentatonic extension in the key of A.
