An open string slur is similar in technique to normal slurring, as discussed in the previous lesson except an open string is incorporated into the slur. The next example makes use of open string slurs on the third string. Pull-offs and hammer-ons are used with only the first note in each bar played.
The following lick utilizes an open string slur into a lick played solely on the third string.
A variation on an open string slur is to play a fretted note first, followed by a hammer-on, then two pull-offs, a total of four notes in each grouplet.
