Everything you have played so far has involved picking one string at a time. However, as a guitar player, it is important to be able to play one, two, three, four, five or six strings together at any given moment. Two notes played together are called double stops. The example below uses the 1 st and 2nd strings together and then the 2nd and 3rd strings together. All the notes here are played with downstrokes (even the 8th notes). As with all examples, make sure all the notes are clear and even.
