If you look at the positions of the root notes (key notes) in the scale pattern above, you will notice that they form a triangular pattern. In the basic E chord and E form bar chord (root 6) below, you can see that the root notes are in the same positions as they are in the scale pattern.
Because of this the scale pattern shown above can be described as the E form of the scale. This is the form you already know as pattern 1.
