Bass music is written on the lines and spaces of the bass staff, which is similar to the treble staff, except that it uses a bass clef (shown below).
There is a bass clef at the beginning of every line of bass music.
A staff with a bass clef written on it is called a bass staff.
Notes on the bass staff are lower than those on the treble staff and the notes appear in different places. Every note is one line or space down from where it would be on the treble staff. The notes on the lines and spaces of the bass staff are shown below.
