Now it is time to try combining the picking of the strings with the right hand fingers and the right hand thumb.
The following examples features the sixth string open bass note and the bass note found on the fourth string, 2nd fret. These notes are picked with the right hand thumb(p). The remaining notes in each bar are the open second and first strings played with the right hand fingers (i) and (m).
Some fingerpickers prefer to use one of the following right hand bracing techniques. The first option involves resting the little finger of the right hand on the guitar face. The second option involves resting the bottom of the hand on the bridge.
