An endless amount of arpeggio patterns can be created, both in ^ and * time. Some of the common * patterns are shown here.
The next patterns place the bass notes on the first and third beats of the bar therefore placing the emphasis on these beats. Pattern five uses the root bass note on both the first and third beats. Pattern six employs the alternative bass note on the third beat.
The next example uses both arpeggio picking style patterns five and six. Two new chords are introduced, Cmaj7 and Gsus.

Arpeggio patterns seven and eight place the bass notes on the first and fourth beats of the bar, creating a completely different rhythm to the two previous patterns.
