The term chord progression means a series of chord changes. Chord progressions are common in all styles of music, and the more you know, the more songs you will be able to play. The following example is a chord progression using the five major chords shown above. While you are learning this progression, try to read slightly ahead of where you are playing so you don't lose your place when moving from the end of the first line to the beginning of the second line. This is a good principle to use when reading any music. The rhythm notation in this example indicates that the chords are to be strummed on all four beats of each bar.
