This basic Blues in the key of Bb works well with a Chicago, Texas or Jump Blues band. In these musical situations, scale substitutions and outside playing are generally undesirable and detract from the music. The most important thing when playing with any band is to use your ears and play what is appropriate to the context.
Here is a similar set of Blues changes with a few more chords. On the recording it is played on Tenor sax. This may be challenging at first. If you have trouble, read the music as you listen to the CD and then sing along with the melody. Once you have a phrase in your memory, transfer it to the guitar. The more you do this, the easier it gets.
