The tremolo has previously been studied on the first string (!) and it is now time to expand its use to the @ and # as most tremolo pieces explore all three strings.
Because of the problem of adjacent strings when using tremolo on @ and #, it is necessary to be a little more cautious with the finger action to avoid hitting other strings. There is no real trick to inside tremolo other than slow careful practice making sure to retain an even tempo and volume throughout.
I have adapted the following Largo (pg. 188) into tremolo using !@ and # based on my arrangement in Volume 3t Popular Classics of the Great Composers, the opening bars of which are demonstrated below. If the student is familiar with the original arrangement, it will be obvious how the tremolo version works whilst making only minor alterations.
