A good way to become familiar with the notes and sound of any new scale is to sing the scale degrees along with the pitches. This is demonstrated in the following example using the C Blues scale. Sing along with the following exercise and then practice it until you can confidently sing the scale without listening to the audio first.
Another useful technique for becoming familiar with a new scale is to sing from the first note of the scale to every other note of the scale, returning to the first degree between all the other pitches. This is demonstrated in the following example.
